Rope / Confined Space Rescue Training
American ERT utilizes multiple semi-trailers with internal spaces representing all NFPA type confined spaces. These are actual spaces that rescuers enter and perform patient accessment and packaging. Spaces are custom configured at each location to match spaces found in any particular location.
Examples of some of these spaces are both horizontal and vertical shafts, pipes, vaults, duct work, and the "Hopper", an 11' tall hopper that has both vertical and horizontal access with walls that slope down to a 10" diameter.
Rescuers are video taped while performing training scenario's and then taken into a classroom setting where the tape can be reviewed. This video tape is then left with the customer as a refresher training tool and also as documentation that the team has performed profeciently in spaces like they would respond in the event of an actual emergency.

Technical Rescue
American ERT's Technical Rescue program is taught by a group of specialized instructors who know their business. This training is not one of the usual lecture based courses but instead trainees will get into the thick of it. Like shoring a wall of a building before breaching the masonry wall. Once inside the job is only just started. From there the trainees accomplish additional shoring and victim search. This course is very physically demanding but one of the more rewarding courses we offer. This course involves a good deal of preparation before the class is actually began and therefore American ERT will send in a preparation team to make sure that this course will be one of the best your department will ever experience. There is grant monies available for this program. For information on this program please contact us.
